The three vibrant people profiled in this film will challenge anyone¹s preconceptions of old age. They all live independently in Angelus Plaza, a retirement home in downtown Los Angeles. They display a sense of humor, vitality, and interest in life despite the usual physical complaints of old age.

Billie, an African American in her 80¹s has not lost her vanity or sense of fun. With a twinkle in her eye, she shows us her wardrobe, an outfit for every occasion including a walk to the corner for milk. She can be flashy on occasion, and prides herself on her attention getting spiked heels. One can¹t help but delight in her spirited regalia. Sandra, also in her 80¹s is learning Chinese, a feat that persons half her age would find daunting. She goes dancing every week, despite the scarcity of male partners. Miguel, a Cuban exile, tells us with a sly smile that he will not die before seeing Castro dead. He passionately holds on to his counterrevolutionary past.

The filmmaker tells us she made the film having been deeply affected by the loneliness of her grandfather¹s aging and death. Through these three elders, she learned the later years can be gratifying.
