What is it like to be an entrepreneur in present-day China? All about My Friends provides an up-close view of the daily life of a tour operator in Shanghai determined to become wealthy. He works non-stop with little sleep, and has no other interest outside of seeing his tour business make a profit. His young jobless girlfriend leads a luxurious life on his earnings, while he postpones thoughts of marriage until he has amassed a substantial nest egg. The film also introduces his success-driven parents, restaurateurs who rue their son’s lack of time for them. The film provides sharp insight into the new breed of Chinese entrepreneur.
