Let's Fall in Love: A Singles' Weekend At the Concord Hotel
| Length: | 25 min |
| Released: | 1994 |
| Ages: |
High School College Adult |
This opening night hit of the Jewish Film Festival will appeal to anyone who has ever felt the fear of going through life unwed. The Concord Hotel, famous for its kosher food and mammoth golf course, hosts five "Single's Weekends" each year. These weekends are attended by single, divorced and widowed romantics, and it is easy to empathize with the hopeful women and men who go to the Catskills in search of a mate.
This poignant film captures the ironies of the ritualized mating game, with its dances, sporting activities, and contests, all designed for mingling. There are unwritten codes of behavior. One does not appear overly interested or spend too much time with any one person. After all, there are many people to be considered. Friday evening's optimism gives way to desperation if someone special has not materialized by Saturday night. But hope springs eternal and there is always another Singles' Weekend.
Ms. Marks is available to appear with the film.
