Here is a film that looks at the feminist movement from a new perspective -- that of women who were not high-profile activists, but whose lives were none the less affected by the changes in society. The women featured here came of age in the early 50's, from varied racial, ethnic and social backgrounds. None of them had joined a march or belonged to an organization. Yet these real life women were affected by the changes in gender relations during the 60's and 70's. We meet a Jewish housewife from Brooklyn; an African American who is currently an editor at Forbes; an artist from St. Louis; and a Hispanic social worker. These women's stories of how they negotiated, benefited, (or sometimes couldn't benefit) from changing gender roles will strike a sympathetic chord in today's generation.
