4/11/13	Electoral Dysfunction Nominated for ABA Silver Gavel Award Filmakers Library title Electoral Dysfunction has been selected as a finalist in the American Bar Association's 2013 Silver Gavel Awards Competition. These awards, which will be announced in May, honor media projects that foster public understanding of the law. Additional information and a list of finalists can be found here.
3/27/13	Shut Up and Look screens at London's Institute of Contemporary Art Museum Filmaker's title Richard Artschwager: Shut Up and Look was presented to the Institute of Contemporary Art Museum in London in March. Due to public demand, three additional screenings were added. Additional screenings in 2013 include: The Newport Beach Film Festival, California (April) The Parrish Art Museum (April) The SENE Film Festival, Rhode Island (April) The Hammer Museum in conjunction with a retrospective of Artschwager's work (summer) The Image Movement, Berlin (June)

2/5/13	Criminal Injustice Screens at NY State Conference Criminal Injustice: Death and Politics at Attica has been selected to be screened at the New York State Black and Puerto Rican Caucus Annual Conference in Albany on February 15, 2013.
2/5/13	The Powerbroker Airs on PBS's Independent Lens The Powerbroker: Whitney Young's Fight for Civil Rights was chosen to air on the PBS series Independent Lens on February 18, 2013.
1/20/13	Psychology Today Article Features What Killed Kevin? A January 20, 2013 article that appeared in Psychology Today highlights the Filmakers Library Film What Killed Kevin? and delivers an in-depth discussion of the issue of bullying.
10/5/12	Finding Kalman Airs Nationwide on PBS Finding Kalman, about four generations of a Holocaust survivor’s family, is being aired on PBS stations around the country. This profoundly moving film has been screened at workshops at Yad Vashem and is now beginning a European tour at Auschwitz. A full film description can be found here.
10/5/12	Lost and Sound Receives Enthusiastic Response at National Media Market Lost and Sound, the inspiring film about music and the hearing impaired, enjoyed an enthusiastic reception at the 2012 National Media Market in Las Vegas. P. Singh, Senior Clinical Lecturer, Director of Clinical Studies, University College London recently wrote, "The documentary brilliantly showed three people who have music as a central core in their lives despite having significant hearing losses."
9/27/11	Google Baby wins Emmy in Outstanding Science and Technology Programming category We’re happy to announce our new film Google Baby has won a News & Documentary Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Science and Technology Programming. The film was produced and directed by Zippi Brand Frank and was broadcast by HBO.
9/26/11	Good Fortune wins Emmy Award We're excited to announce that our film Good Fortune has won a News & Documentary Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Business & Economic reporting. The film was directed by Landon Van Soest, and produced by Jeremy Levine, and aired on the PBS program POV.
5/1/11	Regretters chosen as festival winner at the Western Psychological Association Film Festival Regretters was honored as one of two winners for the Encore Presentation award at the Western Psychological Film Festival. The film will therefore be shown again at the meeting to be held in 2012.
4/28/11	Five films selected for Western Psychological Association Film Festival Five new films from the Filmakers Library psychology collection have been chosen for presentation at the Western Psychological Associations Convention in Los Angeles: The titles are: Brain Gain, Muslims in Love, Regretters, Strike Dice, and The Mystery of Sleep.
1/9/11	ALA announcement that Filmakers Library has joined forces with Alexander Street Press.. Jan. 2011. It was announced at ALA that Filmakers Library has formed a partnership with Alexander Street Press a leading electronic publisher of academic collections. In addition to continuing the sale of individual DVDs, ASP (http:// alexanderstreet.com) will launch the Filmakers Library collection as a streaming online database (Filmakers Library Online or FLON) early in Spring 2011.
5/21/10	"Flying on One Engine" Wins Estonian People's Award Joshua Z. Weinstein has won the Estonian People's Award for his film "Flying on One Engine: The Slumdog Surgeon." He will be honored by the President of Estonia in July, 2010.
2/9/10	In My Hands: A Story of Marfan Syndrome wins a 2010 CINE Special Jury Award In My Hands: A Story of Marfan Syndrome has been selected to receive a 2010 CINE Special Jury Award (Documentary Short).
