Electoral Dysfunction Nominated for ABA Silver Gavel Award
Filmakers Library title Electoral Dysfunction has been selected as a finalist in the American Bar Association's 2013 Silver Gavel Awards Competition. Shut Up and Look screens at London's Institute of Contemporary Art Museum
Filmaker's title Richard Artschwager: Shut Up and Look was presented to the Institute of Contemporary Art Museum in London in March. Due to public demand, three additional screenings were added. Finding Kalman Airs Nationwide on PBS
Finding Kalman, about four generations of a Holocaust survivor’s family, is being aired on PBS stations around the country. This profoundly moving film has been screened at workshops at Yad Vashem and is now beginning a European tour at Auschwitz. A full film description can be found here. |

Lost and Sound Receives Enthusiastic Response at National Media Market
Lost and Sound, the inspiring film about music and the hearing impaired, enjoyed an enthusiastic reception at the 2012 National Media Market in Las Vegas. P. Singh, Senior Clinical Lecturer, Director of Clinical Studies, University College London recently wrote, "The documentary brilliantly showed three people who have music as a central core in their lives despite having significant hearing losses." |

Five new films from the Filmakers Library psychology collection have been chosen for presentation at the Western Psychological Associations Convention in Los Angeles: The titles are: Brain Gain, Muslims in Love, Regretters, Strike Dice, and The Mystery of Sleep. |

It was announced at ALA that Filmakers Library has formed a partnership with Alexander Street Press a leading electronic publisher of academic collections. In addition to continuing the sale of individual DVDs, ASP (http:// alexanderstreet.com) will launch the Filmakers Library collection as a streaming online database (Filmakers Library Online or FLON) early in Spring 2011. |
